This webinar will delve into the specifics of CLIA regulations, including the various levels of certification, quality control requirements, and proficiency testing. It will also provide insights into CLIA-exempt states and the roles of CMS-approved accreditation organizations, such as the College of American Pathologists (CAP). Additionally, it will discuss the oversight roles of other regulatory agencies, such as the FDA and CMS, and highlight their integration into good clinical laboratory practices.
Erica is a Consultant in the Good Laboratory Compliance (GLC) practice at ADAMAS Consulting. Erica has a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science from Tuskegee University and a Master of Clinical Laboratory Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She maintains a certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP). Erica has over 18 years of experience working in CLIA-regulated environments. Her skill set includes human biological sample (HBS) analysis, quality assurance assessments, process and system validations, and more. Erica has also volunteered as a peer assessor/inspector for various CMS-approved accreditation organizations.
